Commission 002 — Porsche 992 Carrera S

Sergio’s Porsche 992 Carrera S presented a unique and rewarding challenge. Finished in a stealthy satin black paint, the car is contrasted by striking muted gold graphics and accents that give the vehicle a distinctive motorsport-inspired aesthetic.
From the custom wheels to the gold graphics and aerodynamic details, this build required extensive design and fabrication work to accurately recreate Sergio’s car in 1:64 scale.
The goal of every commission is to translate the design language of the real vehicle into miniature form — preserving the proportions, finishes, and defining details that make the original car unique.
Studying the Vehicle Specification

As with every commission, the process begins by studying the vehicle itself.
Sergio’s Carrera S features several aftermarket components and unique visual details that had to be carefully analyzed before fabrication began. The satin finish paint, custom wheels, and bold gold graphics all required specialized approaches in order to be recreated accurately at scale.
Understanding these details at the beginning of the project allows each component to be designed and fabricated with the correct proportions and finish.
Preparing the Donor Casting

Each build begins with a donor Hot Wheels casting that serves as the foundation for the model.
The factory paint is completely stripped from the casting and the body is corrected to remove imperfections created during the mass-production process. Mold lines are refined and surfaces are smoothed to prepare the casting for the custom work that follows.
Once reduced to its bare metal form, the casting becomes a blank canvas for the build.
Designing the Custom Wheels

One of the defining features of Sergio’s Carrera S is the aftermarket wheel setup, which required a complete custom design.

Using reference images of the real vehicle, the wheels were recreated in CAD software and scaled precisely to match the proportions of the car. Once finalized, the wheels were 3D printed and carefully finished by hand before being installed on the chassis.

Because the wheels are such a prominent visual feature of the car, ensuring the design and proportions were correct was a critical part of the build.
Fabricating the Aero Components

Sergio’s car also features a unique rear diffuser and exhaust configuration that differs from the standard Carrera S.
To recreate this detail, the rear diffuser and exhaust system were fabricated from scratch, carefully shaped and fitted to the casting. These components were then finished and integrated into the rear of the model to match the design of the real vehicle.
Custom fabrication like this allows the miniature to capture details that would otherwise be impossible to achieve using the factory casting alone.
Paint and Finishing

Unlike the previous GT3 commission, Sergio’s Carrera S required a satin finish paint rather than a high gloss automotive finish.
Achieving a clean satin surface at this scale requires careful control of the paint and clear coat layers to ensure the finish remains smooth while maintaining the correct muted sheen.
This finish gives the model the same stealthy appearance as the real vehicle.
Custom Graphics and Gold Accents

One of the most visually striking features of Sergio’s build is the large muted gold graphics that contrast against the black paint.
Because these decals are applied over a dark surface, they required the use of a white toner printer to ensure the gold graphics remained vibrant and visible. Custom decals were designed specifically for this build and printed with a white underlayer so the colors would display correctly.
Additional details such as the tow hook were color matched to the gold accents and brake calipers, tying the entire color scheme together.
The Finished Piece

With the fabrication, paint, and graphics complete, Sergio’s Carrera S was brought together as a finished piece.
From the custom wheels to the satin paint and gold graphics, every detail of the build was designed to reflect the unique specification of the real car.
Each commission is built individually, combining digital design, precision fabrication, and automotive finishing techniques to create a true miniature representation of the original vehicle.
Each build comes with it's own custom case made from beautiful natural walnut that I make from scratch in the studio. The build details are engraved on the surface along with a signature.

This Carrera S was a fantastic project to bring to life, and it stands as another example of what is possible when craftsmanship and automotive design meet at scale.
Commission a Build
If you would like your own vehicle recreated as a 1:64 scale custom build, I offer a limited number of commission slots throughout the year.
Each model is individually designed and fabricated to match the exact specification of the real vehicle.
